The five arts山医命相卜
Classical Chinese learning sorts its skills into five: mountain, medicine, destiny, appearance and divination. Feng shui is reading the appearance of the land. Reading a face or a palm is its sibling. The coins are divination. Try them here; the land is still what we do best.
Throw the coins
Six throws of three coins build a hexagram from the bottom up. Sixty-four hexagrams, each a picture of a situation. The changing lines show where it is going.
Hold one question in mind. Three coins, six throws, bottom line first. Heads count three, tails two; sixes and nines are the lines that change.
No cast yet. The six lines will build here, bottom first.
Read a face
The face is divided into twelve palaces and three sections. Tap a region to see what it governs and what a reader looks for. The scale on the left marks the three sections.
Read a palm
Six lines and six mounts. Classical texts read a man's left hand and a woman's right; modern readers take the dominant hand for what you have made of yourself and the other for what you were given.
A face shows what you were given. The land shows what you can change.
These pages are for study and curiosity. Our readings are of the land: the grave, the house, the premises. When you want a face or a palm read properly, add it to a Bazi consultation and the master reads it on the call.
